Pool Equipment Enclosure Rebuilt: Before and After

Before and after: a pool equipment enclosure rebuilt.

A pool equipment enclosure keeps your pump and filter out of the weather and out of sight. This one had seen better days: the roof was falling in and the screen at the front was broken.

Before and after: the pool equipment enclosure rebuild

I built a new timber-framed roof with new metal roof sheeting and fitted a solid new door, so the equipment is covered, protected and secure. Neat and weather-tight again.

3 smart upgrades in this rebuild

  1. New roof framing. A new timber frame gives the roof proper support.
  2. New metal roof sheeting. It sheds rain and keeps the sun off the equipment.
  3. A solid new door. It replaces the broken screen, keeps the equipment secure and still gives easy access for servicing.

Why a good pool equipment enclosure matters

Keeping pumps and filters out of direct sun and rain helps protect them, keeps leaves and debris out, and makes the area look tidy. When an enclosure starts falling apart, repairing or rebuilding it is usually a straightforward carpentry job.

Note: we build and repair the enclosure itself. Electrical work on pool equipment must be done by a licensed electrician, and pool plumbing by a licensed plumber. The QBCC can confirm a tradesperson’s licence.

Frequently asked questions

Can you repair an enclosure rather than rebuild it?

Often. If the walls are sound, replacing the roof, the door or any rotten timber may be all it needs. I tell you which makes more sense.

Can you build other outdoor covers?

Yes. Small timber structures, covers and repairs to sheds, pergolas and decks are all part of our carpentry work.
