What We Do
A timber fence doesn’t usually fail all at once. A post rots at ground level, a rail lets go, palings split or drop off, and before long a whole section is leaning or held up with stakes. SURVE repairs those problems before they turn into a full replacement.
I’m Dan, and I do every job myself. With 35+ years in building and carpentry, I fix the cause, not just the symptom: a rotten post is replaced and set properly, loose rails are re-secured, and new palings are matched and fixed so the repair lines up with the rest of the fence.
Need other work done while I’m there? I also handle deck repairs, pergola repairs and gate and door repairs.
- 35+ years’ building and carpentry experience
- Posts, rails, palings and gates repaired properly
- Repairs matched to your existing fence
- Site left clean and old timber taken away
Our Fence Repair Services

- Set new posts plumb and secure rails
- Fix palings level with the existing fence
- Clean up and take the old timber away
Small New Fences & Gates
Fence repairs are my main focus, but I also build small new fences: a short run of paling fence, a side return, a new garden gate or a privacy screen. On smaller jobs like these, one experienced tradesman is usually the most economical way to go:
- You pay for one person, not a crew. There’s no team, truck fleet or sales office built into the price.
- No job is too small. A single post, a gate or a few metres of fence is worth doing properly.
- Combine it with other repairs. I can fix the fence, rehang the gate and sort out other jobs around the house on the same visit.
- The person who quotes is the person who does the work. You deal with me from start to finish.
When a bigger company is the better choice
For a full boundary fence, a long new run or a retaining wall, a larger fencing or landscaping company is usually the right call. Those jobs need several workers on site at once, machinery for digging post holes and moving sleepers or blocks, and a QBCC-licensed fencing contractor for fencing work over $3,300. Retaining walls also need proper drainage and, depending on their height, engineering and council approval. A crew set up for that work will get it done faster and more economically than one tradesman.
If your job is that size, I’ll tell you straight away. If it’s a repair or a small new section, get in touch and I’ll take care of it.
How It Works
1. Tell us about the job
Call us, or fill in the quote form and tell us what needs doing and where. Photos help, but they’re optional.
2. We book you in
Small jobs are booked straight in at our callout rate. For bigger jobs we’ll quote a fixed price or a full-day rate — whatever suits you. Free on-site look within 10 km of Robina.
3. Job done properly
We turn up on time, do the job right and leave the place clean.

I contacted Surve after reading the positive reviews. We required a quick turnaround on various jobs at an empty investment property. Dan and Sue went out of their way to accommodate such a late notice request even working weekends to fit us in. Their communication was great, the itemised invoice and photos were very beneficial as we don't live close by and rely heavily on communication, photos and a professional operator. Highly recommended.Posted on Google![]()

Dan was the best. Not only was his work top quality, he communicated everything clearly and was a joy to have in the house. Sue was also great with prompt responses and booking queries. I can't recommend Surve Property Maintenance highly enough. They will be the first to call next time I need something.Posted on Google![]()

Common Questions
How does your pricing work?
Small jobs: one callout fee covers travel and your first hour on site — no 2‑hour minimum — then 30‑minute increments. Larger jobs (8+ hours) are charged at our full-day property maintenance rate plus materials, with no callout fee. The standard callout applies around Robina; it may be slightly higher further out. We’ll confirm your exact price by phone or email before we start. All prices include GST; materials are extra.
Do you build new fences?
Yes, small ones: short runs of paling fence, side returns, garden gates and privacy screens. For a full boundary fence, a long new run or a retaining wall, a larger fencing or landscaping company with a crew and machinery is usually the better choice, and fencing work over $3,300 needs a QBCC-licensed fencing contractor. I’ll tell you honestly which one your job is.
My fence is shared with a neighbour. Can you still fix it?
Yes. For a shared boundary fence it’s worth agreeing the repair with your neighbour first. I’m happy to give you a quote and photos so you can both see what’s needed.
Do you work on commercial and strata properties?
Yes. As well as homes and rentals, we look after commercial premises, retail shops and strata common areas — repairs, carpentry, doors and windows, drywall and plaster, and painting, all completed to builder‑level standards. We work during business hours and don’t offer an emergency or after‑hours service.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes — when the job can be assessed from photos you send us, or when the property is within 10 km of Robina.
Do you service rental properties?
Yes. We work with property managers, landlords and tenants, and can collect keys from the agent or arrange access with tenants.
How soon can you come out?
Small jobs can typically be done within a week. Larger jobs are scheduled in advance — usually a minimum of two weeks.
